The view matters. Visibility analysis are important from the planning point of view. Visual analysis tools allow you to generate visibility studies over an area, creating an output raster that display what entities can be seen over a certain landscape, from the point of view of one or more observatory. They are used mainly for the planning purpose, from new infrastructure implementation to the development of new touristic activities/routes.

Most existing pet tracking options I came across were like asking for a gourmet meal and getting a frozen half-cooked microwaved burrito – all for the price of a five-star restaurant. After being disappointed by them and seeing a lack of a comprehensive open source solution, I embarked on the journey to create one. FindMyCat is the ultimate pet tracking solution. With a battery that can last up-to 6 months, works indoors and outdoors it outperforms 90% of the commercial options. With no monthly subscription fees and a fully open-source solution, it just might be the only pet tracker you'll ever need. --- Official Website: www.findmycat.io Engineering: www.findmycat.io/docs

A recent study from BBC Earth and UC-Berkeley has shown that watching nature documentaries can inspire 'significant increases in feelings of awe, contentedness, joy, amusement and curiosity' and conversely 'reduce feelings of tiredness, anger and stress.' In short, they can engender what the authors of the study call ‘real happiness’ – a kind of happiness that leads to actual improvement in individuals’ health and wellbeing,
With that in mind, the BBC has just released 50 hours of HD 'visual soundscapes' on YouTube, using leftover footage from their Planet Earth II TV series. Ten hours of mountains; ten hours of jungle; ten hours of islands; ten hours of desert; and ten hours of grasslands--they're all featured in the long, soothing soundscape playlist featured above.

Low-tech Magazine underscores the potential of past and often forgotten technologies and how they can inform sustainable energy practices. Sometimes, past technologies can be copied without any changes. More often, interesting possibilities arise when older technology is combined with new knowledge and new materials, or when past concepts and traditional knowledge are applied to modern technology. Inspiration is also to be found in the so-called “developing” world, where resource constraints often lead to inventive, low-tech solutions.
Inspired by the image compression on its solar-powered website, Low-tech Magazine squeezed the article catalog of its three-volume book series into just one book. Compressing the content — an editorial and design choice — produces a larger reduction in resource use than printing on recycled paper could ever do. For this book, Low-tech Magazine switched to a smaller font size, downsized most images, and opted for a two-column layout. Some articles, especially older ones, were rewritten resulting not only in fewer pages but also in better articles.
